Going with the Rockies today as they'll face the RH knuckleballer in LA. The Rockies have struggled against the Dodgers in the past, but the Dodgers have not been the same team despite Andre Ethier's MVP like year. Most of the problems have stemmed from bad pitching including a BP ERA of 5.07 on the year and 7.64 in their last 5 games. Rockies are among the best in the league in BP EAR. Haegar the knuckle ball starter for LA has a 9.49 ERA in his last 3 starts and will go against the Rockies who are 42-20 in their last 62 as a favorite while the Dodgers are 0-8 in their last 8 as an under dog.
Rockies send 22 year old Venezuella prospect Jhooly Chacin. In his first start in 2010 he threw 7 shutout innings with 7K's while giving up 1 hit and 3 BB to the Giants. This is a guy that just flat out wins. He led minors with 18 wins in 2008 at the age of 20, and backed that up in 2009 with 18 more wins. He was 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA in 4 starts in AAA this year before being brought up with De La Rosa going on the DL. In his 5 seasons in the majors he's 40-17 with a 2.43 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. He's still young, but he has a 92MPH fastball with a very good change up. I think it will take the Dodgers a few times through to really know what is going on and by then the Rockies should have a few runs off Haegar.
